Discovering Houston

I'm working up some new ideas for ways I can further explore Houston.  Here are a few I've come up with!

1. A Houston skyline kayaking tour!  I found a groupon for this today and so I figured I'd give it a try - it looks fun!

2. Cooking classes!  I found two places in the city that look like they have a pretty good schedule lined up.  I'm considering the bread making class at one of them and the Moroccan cooking classes at either one (I've always wanted to learn how to use a tagine!)

3. Explore the live music scene!  This one's a little difficult and I'm not really sure where the "scene" is yet.  I've been doing some exploring online though.  I also found what sounds like a fun karaoke night downtown which I know I could drag some of my friends to.  If you know of any good sources for live music guides to Houston, let me know!

So who else is "in" and wants to do some exploring with me??
